How is your life force?

Where in yourself would you like to bring more healing energy?

What might it be like to feel more balanced?

Reiki is a kind of energy healing. Like acupuncture or qi gong, reiki opens up the energy channels in the body, to support our own capacities for healing — physically, emotionally and spiritually. Through gentle touch and/or intention reiki taps into the body’s biofield system, the electromagnetic and energy field that surrounds and permeates each of us. Reiki practitioners help move that energy to alleviate stuck points or energy blockages in order to promote healing.

While science is still working to understand how and why reiki and other biofield therapies work, the evidence is that it does. Reiki does not replace conventional medical or psychiatric treatment, and reiki practitioners do not offer medical or mental health diagnoses. Reiki can soothe the nervous system, ease chronic pain, facilitate healing after an injury, illness or surgery, and provide emotional and spiritual support. Reiki is a non-invasive healing practice with no side effects that can open up additional pathways to healing.

People come to reiki to manage anxiety and stress, improve sleep, address chronic pain, help the body metabolize trauma, get support during chemotherapy or other intensive medical interventions, ease the aches and pains of aging, and so on. At a minimum reiki brings more ease, and at a maximum reiki creates healing possibilities that are otherwise not accessible through conventional medical treatment alone. All of this happens by supporting the body, mind and spirit’s innate capacities for healing.

How Do I Start?

Email me at smbojdak@gmail.com to arrange a 15–30 minute consultation free of charge. We’ll talk about your healing journey and whether reiki can be a helpful tool for you right now.

How Often Do We Meet?

It’s great to begin a reiki journey with 3–4 sessions scheduled weekly to get your energy moving and to open up your receptivity to energy healing. While every person is different, a monthly maintenance appointment can help manage chronic conditions and promote long-term healing. Some people notice a significant impact after just one session and move on; others make reiki an on-going part of their self-care.

What Do Reiki Sessions Include?

Reiki sessions are generally one hour in length. They can happen in person or at a distance. An in-person session begins with time to connect about what is needing attention in the moment. We continue with about 40 minutes of treatment during which you relax on a massage table (fully clothed) while the reiki practitioner places their hands gently on or hovers their hands over key points in your body, enabling the reiki energy to flow into your energy field. We conclude by checking in about what arose during your session.

A distance reiki session begins with that check-in time over the phone or by Zoom. Then you get comfortable where you are (ideally in a quiet space, where you can lie down and not be disturbed) while the reiki practitioner accesses your energy field from afar, going over the same points they would do if you were in person. We conclude by reconnecting on phone or Zoom about what came up during the session.

What Am I Supposed to Feel During or After a Reiki Session?

Some people feel very little. Others begin to feel the reiki at work, as tingling, warmth, or energy in the body or mind, the moment it begins. Often people feel deep relaxation; sometimes people feel bored. The reiki energy stays in your body for 72 hours. Sometimes people don’t feel anything in the session but they notice a change the next morning or over the next couple of days. Sometimes it takes a few sessions before something shifts.

Where Do We Meet?

I meet with people in my home studio in the East Bay (SF Bay Area) or by phone or Zoom.

Fees

My fee is $100 for an in-person session and $75 for a distance session. If you want to get started with 4 sessions, I offer a set of 4 sessions to start for $360 in person or $275 distance.
